Join the Kentucky Nurses Association for "An Overview of the Kentucky Nursing Laws: Understanding Scope of Practice and Protecting your License" 9 a.m. - 2 p.m ., Wednesday, May 12.  This course will also be offered Wednesday, November 3 (registration for that event to follow).

At the end of this presentation, participants will be able  to:

  • Understand the Kentucky Board of Nursing’s role as a regulatory agency;
  • Discuss the responsibility and accountability of nurses, nursing supervisors and administrators in relation to the Kentucky Nursing Laws, nursing practice, and current practice opinions;
  • Discuss the investigation and disciplinary processes;
  • Discuss the complaint and disciplinary processes related to the request and implementation of a hearing and
  • Discuss the Kentucky Alternative Recovery Effort (KARE) for Nurses Program and the incidence of substance use disorder in the nursing profession as well as the requirements for the nurse on disciplinary monitoring.

4.3 Contact hours

Attendees must stay for duration of the program to be awarded contact hours for continuing nursing education provide license number upon registration and complete an evaluation for the program. Partial credit will not be awarded for any session. We reserve the right to cancel or alter the program if unanticipatedcircumstances necessitate changes.
