Join the KNA and UofL School of Nursing for a CE program, "Measuring Food Insecurity in Primary Care in Kentucky," 7 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 18. Frances Hardin-Fanning, PhD, RN, professor of nursing and the Shirley Powers Norton Endowed chair of nursing research at the UofL School of Nursing, will present this offering. At the conclusion of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the impact of food insecurity on health;
  • Identify role of primary care provider in reducing food insecurity;
  • Measure food security status;
  • Classify categories of food insecurity and
  • Describe the additional strategies to enhance food security in Kentucky.

Contact Hours: 1.0

Attendees must stay for duration of the program to be awarded contact hours for continuing nursing education, provide license number upon registration and complete an evaluation for the program. Partial credit will not be awarded for any session. We reserve the right to cancel or alter the program if unanticipated circumstances necessitate changes. The Kentucky Nurses Association is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN). The KBN approval of an individual nursing continuing education provider does not constitute endorsement.

KNA to offer mandatory CE programs about Implicit Bias and Nurse Suicide Prevention starting 5/1/2022. To save lives and to meet KBN requirements, nurses must complete these courses by 7/1/2023.
