Violence in Healthcare: Empowering Nurses

Join the Kentucky Nurses Association for a CE program, "Violence in Healthcare: Empowering Nurses," 5:30 - 7:30 p.m., Thursday, July 14. Linda Robinson, MSN, BSN, vice president clinical excellence, MDM Commercial/Healthcare Division, will present this offering. At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

• Define Workplace Violence
• Discuss prevalence, causes and effects of workplace violence in hospitals
• Review The Joint Commission 2022 new Workplace Violence Prevention Requirements, standards of best practice
• Describe and discuss evidenced based interventions that reduce workplace violence
• Discuss OSHA and state laws across the country regarding workplace violence in hospitals
• Explore how a single empowered nurse can trigger an avalanche of significant changes to the practice environment and in the state

Attendees must stay for duration of this program to be awarded contact hours for continuing nursing education, provide license number upon registration and complete an evaluation for the program.
