Workforce Safety: Harm Prevention, Support, Advocacy. This CE is meant to address the issue of Workplace violence with examples and different avenues Healthcare providers have to address the issue facing all providers, but especially nurses.

After the completion of the course, participants will be able to: 

• Define trauma informed care
• Recognize situations and actions that can de-escalate harm to patients and providers.
• Link one institutions use of the BERT program to prevent harm and escalation of volatile situations.
• Compare individual experiences with healthcare violence.
• Recognize different Coping mechanisms and healthcare approaches to health workforce violence.
• Reflect on the approaches to workforce violence experienced by survivors and how hospitals are addressing this issue
• Recognize a different approach to workforce safety.
• Discuss how a rapid response to mental health situations aids in the safety of patients and healthcare staff.
• Compare different forms of advocacy to prevent violence against healthcare workforce.
• Link advocacy efforts to violence against healthcare workforce.
• Express their role as an advocate for healthcare workforce violence prevention efforts.
