This one hour course will enhance the nurses knowledge regarding what community health entails from a program development perspective. Community nursing and healthcare includes a vast array of programs, assessments and offerings. In this program we will cover several programs, the services they provide and the purpose they serve.  

At the conclusion of this program, the participant will be able to:

Assist attendee in developing a systematic understanding of Ephraim McDowell's Community Services Department 

  • Describe the social determinants of health and why we ask.
  • Describe the community needs assessment and what we learned.
  • Describe what community services are available and the utilization.
