Plan to attend the 2024 KNA Annual Conference, "Inspiring Action, Transforming Care: Nurses Lead the Way" on Friday, November 8th. 

Nurses are the backbone of healthcare. This conference will focus on: innovation, Evidence-Based Practice, Quality, Leadership and Health Equity. 

Keynote Speaker is Diana Mason PhD, RN, FAAN, FADL, FACN(Hon.), CGNC, DHL(Hon.), DS(Hon.) 

Senior Policy Service Professor, Center for Health Policy and Media Engagement, George Washington University School of Nursing; and Professor Emerita at Hunter College. She is Program Director for the International Council of Nurses’ Global Nursing Leadership Institute; faculty on strategic communications for the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators; past President of the American Academy of Nursing, and former editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Nursing. She has hosted a weekly radio program on health and health policy since 1985 and serves on the National Advisory Committee for Kaiser Health News (2009-present). She is lead editor of Policy and Politics in Nursing and Health Care, and was a regular contributor on policy for JAMA Health Forum (2010-2023). She is the principal investigator on Woodhull Study Revisited on journalists’ experiences with using nurses as sources in health news stories.

At the conclusion of her presentation, participants will be able to:     

  • Discuss the factors that are contributing to a mandate for nurses to be bolder in their actions to promote their professional interests and the health of populations.
  • Identify opportunities for taking action in one’s own career, the profession, in healthcare organizations, and/or society to improve the health of communities.

Attendees must stay for duration of these programs to be awarded contact hours for continuing nursing education, provide license number upon registration and complete an evaluation for the program. Partial credit will not be awarded for any session. We reserve the right to cancel or alter the program if unanticipated circumstances necessitate changes.
