Kentucky Nurses Association Green River Chapter Presents Fostering Resilience through Adverse Childhood Experiences and Self-care Tools

The Kentucky Nurses Association Green River Chapter presents "Fostering Resilience through Adverse Childhood Experiences and Self-care Tools" 6  - 8:30 p.m., (CST), Thursday, October 22.  The cost for this program is $15.

The program is approved for 2.0 contact hours; KBN#1-0001-12-20-23.The Kentucky Nurses Association is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN). Program Objectives:

  1. Explain experiences classified as Adverse Childhood Experiences.
  2. Relate Adverse Childhood Experiences to long-term health outcomes of adults.
  3. Examine self-Adverse Childhood Experiences questionnaire score.
  4. Discuss the relationship of stress and resilience.
  5. Recall two positive effects of a Koru Mindfulness practice.
  6. Apply the principles of Koru Mindfulness to build personal resilience.
  7. Develop a personal resilience plan.

More about the Program:

This workshop will build a foundation for Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) knowledge and the effects of ACE on long-term health outcomes of adults.  Participants will have the opportunity to self ACE score to understand the survey, reflect on potential triggers that may present in the workplace, and develop compassion for those experiencing high ACE scores.  Building on the foundation of ACE knowledge, the workshop will examine the relationship between stress and resilience, introduce self-care tools to increase resilience, and tools to develop a personal resilience plan.
