It's an exciting day at the Kentucky Nurses Association!


It's down hours now for you to nominate the "best of the best" in nursing for a KNA Award. Send us an email to admin@kentucky-nurses.org if you want to participate in "The Clinic Workshops & Performance".  By the end of tomorrow, Friday, October 1, please submit your application for the KNA Legislative & Leadership Academy. See more details about these great opportunities:

Nominate the "best of the best" in nursing for a KNA Award that will be given during our Business Meeting & Awards Ceremony, 5 - 7:30, October 28; deadline is today, September 30.

Nurses wanted to participate in "The Clinic" performance; those selected will receive $500 - first preference given to KNA members

Make plans to participate in the workshops on October 22 and 29 and performance on November 4 - deadline to apply is September 30

Join nurse, dancer and creative caregiver Tara Rynders, MFA, BSN, BA, RN-BC, in the exploration of movement, art, and personal reflection around the art and science of caring for oneself and others. As a truth-teller and disrupter, embraces vulnerability, relationship, confession, and collective care as means to end burnout and its detrimental effects which acutely impact our patients of color. 
 
Time Commitment: 
Deadline to apply is Thursday, September 30. Those interested may email admin@kentucky-nurses.org.

Must be able to attend all dates and times listed below: 

Dates and Times: 
Friday October 22, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. (EST)
Friday October 29, 8a.m. - Noon (EST) 
Thursday November 4, 7 - 8 pm (EST) Sharing of Video and Q &A with Tara Rynders, workshop nurses and artists
 
Compensation: 
All nurses will be compensated $500 for their time and participation; must commit and show up to all times listed above to receive compensation. The workshop is limited to 20 nurses. 
 
Evaluation and Waiver: 
Nurse who want to participate must complete evaluation form and sign waiver to be recorded during all workshop sessions.. 

“The Clinic” workshops and performance are funded, in part, by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and Actors Theatre of Louisville.

The Kentucky Nurses Association's “Legislative and Leadership Academy” (L & L) is an immersive 12-week experience designed to increase nurses’ confidence and competence to influence legislation and healthcare policy through their roles as informed nurse leaders. To qualify, candidates must be KNA members or KNA Student Subscribers; preference will be given to post-licensure candidates.  Candidates must also submit two letters of recommendation, commit to fully complete both didactic and preceptorship requirements, provide transportation to Frankfort or other preceptorship sites and exhibit highly professional behavior and appearance as representatives of KNA.
