By invitation of Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, the Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA) joined the Inaugural Parade in Frankfort on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 as Co-Grand Marshalls. We are grateful to Governor Beshear for publicly acknowledging how integral nurses are to the health, safety, and longevity of Kentuckians.

Nurses from across Kentucky joined educators and other healthcare workers as joint Grand Marshalls. Those marching represented 90,000 nurses across the Commonwealth who work across a variety of healthcare, education, corrections, long term care, hospice-care, and other settings.  We proudly displayed our banner featuring "Nurses Lead the Way" and our KNA motto, “There is no Healthcare without nUrSes”.

Through the pandemic and other recent natural disasters, the Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA) and nurses across the state have stepped up to keep Kentuckians safe and healthy. KNA provided support through front line work, vaccination and testing clinics, supporting hospitals and other facilities in the path of flooding and tornadoes, as well as through continued advocacy, education, and research.

We were honored and thrilled to join our state's hard-working educators and the Beshear administration in leading Kentucky Forward, Together.
