Student Advocacy Cabinet Opportunity

Are you interested in advocacy, leadership, and shaping the future of nursing? Serving on the KNA Governmental Affairs Cabinet (GAC) is an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in health policy and professional leadership.

 What You’ll Do

  • Attend Zoom meetings and weekly cabinet discussions
  • Read, research, and discuss legislative bills affecting nursing and healthcare
  • Receive and review weekly reports from the KNA lobbyist
  • Attend Nurses Day at the Capitol (NDAC)
  • Participate in the GAC Retreat in June
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Kansas Nurses Association (KNA)

Meeting Time:
During the legislative session, meetings are held weekly on Wednesdays from 5:00–6:30 p.m.

How to Apply

  • Submit a résumé and photo
  • Candidates are selected by the Governmental Affairs Committee (GAC)
  • Final appointment made by the KNA Board of Directors
